Creating sculpture from found objects, milled lumber, and
copper, his work is free standing from six to just under eight feet in
height. Each piece is finished to become a part of a contemporary home,
adding the warmth of wood that offers creative design in a natural wood
medium. Rich wood grain appears in each piece, both smooth and roughly
exposed.
Not being limited to a set technique or style, in 2008 stained glass was
introduced to the wood. Much of his work includes curved wood which is retrieved from
lumber retailers in warped condition, and then is heated and bent
further for a dramatic affect. Douglas fir is used predominately due to
its bending tendency.
Scott has lived in Southern California most of his life, and continues
