A Manzinita Root mounted on a Padouk wood base. Complimented by brass rods. The painted black portion resembles the shape of a heart, which is accented by the natural reddish color of the root that is finely finished.
Utilizing the power of this piece of wood, I have used the rough portion of the root and painted it a rich flat black to give it an eeriness feel, then added the brass rods to give a ultimate contrast. The bottom part of the root is finished with a clear coat to bring out the radish color of the Manzanita wood that this species is known for.
The name comes from the suggestion of the shape, spurned on by the natural beauty of the wood itself.
