|Padouk wood on African Mahogany base
|73” H 9” W 9” D
Built in February 2014. The piece is made of African Mahogany and Padouk wood. My challenge was to make a 3D piece that was capable of being viewed from all sides, made out of flat board. The two pieces are glued together at the bottom. The piece is mounted on the African Mahogany base by using dowels glued on each of the 4 flat bottoms, and a screw that extends through the base to add some additional stability. All is finished with an oil modified Polyurethane Resin. The two pieces do not touch except at the bottom.
