Sail of Time

This Torrey Pine sculpture resembles a clock crafted from a single piece of natural wood, its grain and growth rings preserved and highlighted in elegant simplicity. The tall, tapering form suggests a sail catching wind or a flame frozen in motion, symbolizing the passage of time as both fluid and fleeting. Its asymmetry and raw texture evoke organic growth and imperfection, grounding the modern clock type hands in nature’s timeless rhythm. The minimalist base anchors the piece, allowing the vertical flow to draw the eye upward, much like time itself—constantly reaching forward.  A metal ball extends from the inside of the circle of grain rings with black painted wooden dowels resembling clock hands.
