Threshold

Two flowing forms rise from a common base, creating an open structure that shifts between solidity and space. The style of this piece adds motion to finely carved pieces of rare Sapele wood. Finished in a special formulated Polyurethane designed to go outside and endure the elements.

Rather than defining a specific figure, the sculpture suggests one. The sweeping curves hint at bodies, limbs, or organic growth, while the spaces between them become an equally important part of the composition.

At the very base, a small dark sphere introduces a quiet point of tension. It appears held within the larger forms, creating a contrast between movement and stillness, freedom and containment.
