Balls and Strikes

The complexity of this piece is found in the meticulous construction to create a completely abstract free standing shape. Most of the construction was “done on the fly”, with no sketching. This piece was made of various wood species of hardwood, with all the pieces of the exact same length.  The widths of the pieces vary.  Starting with each piece connected together by two dowels and glue.  The three spheres are painted Birch, and the single unpainted piece is African Mahogany, finished in a clear coat.
