Sometimes an artist is driven by the materials. Some might say that is the benefit of a cluttered studio. I have to admit I am guilty of both right now. This piece came about by composing a small piece using remnants and cutoff pieces from previous work. Adding color to the combination made an interesting piece that sold before I could deliver it to the gallery. Another local artist bought the piece when I was sharing it at a coffee for artists at the Oceanside Museum of Art. The wood making up the composition is made up of Birch, Redwood and Fir.
